1.19.08- Lifestyle Portraiture starring LUKE ROSENTHAL!!!

We interrupt the wedding blog for something different I've been working on! In 2003, I photographed the wedding of Jessica Lightman and Chad Rosenthal. Jessica, to date, is still one of my favorite brides I've had the honor of photographing in the 600 weddings or so I've documented. Jessica and Chad have been incredibly kind to me, referring me to friends for countless weddings after theirs in '03. One of my career goals is to continue documenting the family lineage for the couples that I photograph.

A few short years ago, Jessica and Chad opened their home to me and allowed me the privilege of documenting their new son, Luke, from infancy to his toddler stage. I can't thank them enough for this. What a hoot, and I hope displaying these images may help open the door to do more of this for my clients. It takes time, energy and commitment, but it's so worth it. Thank you so much Jess, Chad, and of course, Luke.. my man.

I truly hope the viewers of my blog enjoy these. I had a blast doing it. We're awaiting the albums to return from the bindery now. Here's a sampling of some of the sessions.

9.4.07| Halle Smoger!!

Over the past year or so, I've really expanded in to the world of portraits. It's really special to me when former brides ask me to photograph their babies. My philosophy and approach are a bit different than the norm in that I'd prefer not to do stiff, staged studio portraits with baby posers and backdrops. I prefer to spend some time with the family at their home, allowing the baby to more comfortable in their own home. My subjects tend to be more relaxed in their surrounding which really help the images become more lifelike. This is Halle Smoger. She's one year old and is the amazing daughter of David and Tracy Smoger. They were married at the Westin Philadelphia in May of 2004. I really enjoyed this shoot and love these images!

Pam and Dino's Engagement Session

Light is everything to me. We had to postpone Pam and Dino's engagement twice due to the weather. The beautiful thing about engagement sessions, as opposed to weddings, is that we can change the date in order to have some good light! Well, the third time was the charm for this great couple. We took a stroll around Old City and made some fun images.

Darren Daulton has a new book coming out

Much has been said about former Phillies star catcher Darren Daulton in the recent past. Darren recently authored a new book about metaphysics. Darren has said he experiences out of body experiences quite often and felt his first one while driving in a game winning run in Chicago while playing for the Marlins back in '97- his last year as a Major League player. I was honored to be chosen to photograph the book cover. I was a huge fan of his and remember him leading my beloved '93 Phillies to the world series. Darren has been called "nuts", "whackjob", "out of his mind", and many other derogatory things but after meeting him an spending a few hours with him one on one, he seems unaffected by the name calling and appears damn comfortable with who he is and what he believes. My job was to capture a bit of the essence of Darren and hopefully I did that for him.  Here are a few that I liked.
